My 10 Step Korean Skincare Routine / Philippines

Koreans are known for their smooth, baby-like skin. Although some may say that it goes with their bloodline or their culture of the food they eat, we can also cannot deny the fact how they are truly devotional to their skincare. They are so dedicated to the point that they originated the 10-Step Skincare Routine. Yes, 10 steps unlike the usual 4 to 5 steps skincare. Today, I will be sharing with you my Korean Skincare Routine which I'm currently in love with.

  • Double-Cleansing is a Thing
It includes a) Oil Cleansing and b) Foam Cleansing. The logic behind is to thoroughly cleanse the face before you put serums, essence, moisturizers etc. But I don't do the former since I don't wear foundation or heavy makeup on a daily basis. No worries, Korean products are also known for its gentle cleansing so it won't be harsh on your skin. Here I use my Jeju Volcanic Cleansing Foam from Innisfree that I purchased from Lazada (Innisfree Volcanic Cleansing Foam & Toner Trial Kit)
  • Deep Cleansing (Scrub / Clay Mask)
I do this twice a week to remove deep seated dirt that my cleanser and toner wasn't able to remove. For this step,  I use my Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask. I'll put the product all over my face then wait for it to dry (for about 20 mins) after that, I'll rinse it off with water. After doing this, your skin will surely thank you.

  • Toner
Unlike the usual toners (astringents) available here in the Philippines, Korean toners balance the pH level of your skin (which is usually acidic) and prep your skin for the next steps. I use my Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Toner. But my all time fave is Collagen Moisturising and Firming Toner by Watson which I believe is a korean-inspired toner.
  • Sheet Masks
I do this after my clay mask. I'll put the mask on my face then wait for 20 mins. after that I'll massage whatever serum was left on my face. I am not very particular with the brand but I find Vitamin C sheet masks the best. Though some may be bothered since mostly of sheet masks contain alcohol.
  • Essence
They say "Essence is the heart of Korean Skincare" because it gives extra boost of hydration, moisture and all other good things for your skin. Here I use my Missha Time Revolution Essence (trial kit). This essence almost has no scent at all and is easily absorbed by the skin. I also heard that this is a great dupe for SK-II.

  • Serums / Amploule
I'm not quite sure what's the difference between serums and ampoule but one thing I know is it is a more concentrated version of a skincare. Also it targets specific skin problems. I use my Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule (trial kit)
  • Lip Care
I am currently in love with my Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. I use this every night then woke p with supple, kissable lips. It also smells good and is really great for moisturizing.

  • Eye Care
Among all my korean ski care, this is the one I like the most. I use my Dr. Dream Advanced Treament Cream yet I see no significant effects at all. Though, of course, it is still good for moisturizing my eye area.
  • Moisturizer
One of my favorite part, moisturizer. I use my IOPE Ultimate Hydro Cream. I've heard a lot of great reviews about this IOPE skincare line. And this is the first product I purchase from them and I love it. It is easily absorbed and your skin will feel soft and smooth.

  • Sleeping Mask
Oh, my holy-grail korean skincare. My Nature Republic Aloe Vera Gel. In this product, I "fell in love at first try". It is soothing and moisturizing to my skin. My skin has never been better since I used this.

So, that is all for my Korean Skincare Routine. I do this every night and every morning I only wash my face, then tone my face and after that is sunblock (since I don't have much time every morning). The products I use may vary depending on my mood, hehe. Some of these are cult favorites from Korean Skincare, well not just because it work great but also through advertisements. Speaking of effective advertisements, my friend, Michael, just share with us the "most effective for creating ads for social media" in his blog Social Media Advertising Strategies that Works Wonders
